Therapy for Doctors, Nurses, Lawyers, and other High-Stress Professionals
High-pressure careers ask a lot of the people in them. Long hours, high stakes, and constant responsibility for others can leave little room for your own needs, and many capable, driven people reach a point where they are running on empty. Therapy offers a private, confidential space to pause, be heard, and make sense of what the work is costing you, without having to justify or explain the pressures of your role.
I have more than ten years of experience providing counselling to medical doctors, and I have worked with professionals across healthcare, law, business, and other fields. My approach integrates a blend of evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and is rooted in compassion and collaboration. I understand that the pressures of your job are real, and I won’t minimize them or hand you a list of strategies you don’t have the time or energy to use.
Instead, our work is about finding how to function well within the limits of your schedule, and how to make room for meaning, connection, and joy alongside it. Together, we’ll focus on what is realistic and sustainable for your life as it is, so that you feel more grounded, more like yourself, and better equipped to carry the load.
Reasons you may want to reach out:
You’re tired in a way that rest doesn’t seem to fix
You have trouble switching off, even when you’re off the clock
You’ve lost enjoyment in things outside of work, or have little time or energy for them
Work is spilling into your relationships, and you’re more irritable or withdrawn at home
You spend so much time caring for others that there’s little left for yourself
You’re feeling cynical, detached, or numb about work you once cared about
You’re carrying difficult cases, decisions, or experiences that are hard to put down
Anxiety, low mood, or poor sleep is starting to affect your life
You’d like support but haven’t had a space where you didn’t have to explain or justify yourself
